Iz sosednje Avstrije zopet prihaja Parov Stelar, gospod, ki je v eno združil nezdružljivo. House, jazz, swing, breakbeat, electro in še bi veljalo naštevati.

Zgodba Marcusa Furederja se je začela že pred prelomom tisočletja, ko je z neverjetnim občutkom začel skladati različne sample v nove tvorbe, ki bi jih najbolje opisali kot novi jazz. Prvo ploščo je pod psevdonimom Plasma izdal pri Bushido recordings, pravi zvok in uspehe pa je dočakal z ustanovitvijo založbe Etage Noir in prvencem Rough Cuts, ki še danes velja za eno najpomembnejših jazz, lounge plošč. Ker mu je DJ-evska forma postala pretesna, je 2005 postavil na noge Parov Stelar Band, ki je močno vplival tako na njegov zvok kot na popularnost. Pri svoji založbi je izdal še tri albume Seven and Storm, Shine in Coco ter ogromno EP-jev. Zadnji dve leti je spričo intenzivnega koncertiranja izdal le EP-ja Paris Swing Box in La Fete EP, nestrpno pa čakamo nov album, ki je napovedan prav za marec, ko začenja z novo koncertno turnejo, s katero se bo ustavil tudi v Kinu Šiška. In njegovi koncerti so res nekaj posebnega. Nezamenljivemu Max the Sax-u, ki s svojimi energičnimi improvizacijami prispeva dodatne tone energije, se je lani pridružil tudi Jerry Di Monza, trobentač, ki v ničemer ne zaostaja za njim in tako ob ostalih vrhunskih glasbenikih še poveča glasbeno izkušnjo.

Jimmy Barka Experience je projekt treh veteranov slovenske glasbene scene, ki so dobili idejo, da bi bilo pametno narediti kaj izven okvirov standardnega DJ/glasbenik sodelovanja. Koncept že od začetka bazira na tem, da zvenijo kot bend, kot trio, ki se odmika od ideje inštrumentacije na DJ podlago. Rezultat je kolaž raznovrstne godbe od funka, brejkov, afra pa vse tja do eksploatacije balkana in rocka. Na koncu pridemo do hektične mešanice in divje, toda ubrane vožnje od Peruja do Bakuja.

Austrian musician Parov Stelar has taken over the global music scene like a phantom in recent years. Through his music the modest but exceptional talent has not only gained an enormous fan base, but has also achieved cult status as a producer. His retroinfluenced music is borne out of an aura of elegance, wickedness and pure energy. Inspired by styles and samples from the most varying of genres (soul, pop, jazz and swing) and combined with modern beats and grooves he creates an incomparable and peerless sound.
For his live shows Parov Stelar takes to the stage with a host of musical magicians. The performances of the Parov Stelar band are one of the most impressive live conversions of electronic music currently to be seen anywhere in the world. Brass and rhythm sections along with tour singer Cleo Panther re-invent Parov Stelar’s electro beats, emotionally charging the public in a way never thought possible. At the centre of the show is the creator himself, guiding the musical tour de force from the DJ booth. Despite 100’s of live shows and excessive touring the band still continues to push their own creativity and break the boundaries of musical performance. Each show is uniquely different from the previous, inviting the listener to explore new aspects and emotions within Parov Stelar’s music.

Jimmy Barka Eexperience is a new project by three veterans of the slovenian music scene, who got the idea they could do something a little bit different from the usual dj/musician combo, their mission statement was to make the thing sound as a band, a trio and not as “musician playing along a dj set”. The result is a collage of all sorts of stuff, from funk, breaks, afro, to balksploitation and rock all hecticly put together into one bumpy but tight ride from Peru to Baku!
